Series: Eve Trilogy

The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust…and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

My Thoughts
This book is one of the first ARCs I have received and I have to say I’m really impressed. I hadn’t even heard of Anna Carey, but I’ll surely be buying a copy . I don’t usually read science fiction novels that are set in the future, they all look the same, but when I read ‘Eve’, it made me reconsider. This story is so fresh and sweet, that I could barely let the book out of my hands. The story of Eve shows us that no matter what you’ve been thaught your whole life, love can’t be untaught.
Eve is afraid of men, because she’s been thaught to fear them, but finds herself attracted to Caleb, who proves that all she knew about the opposite sex cannot be applied to all men. Love changes her and I loved watching their relationship grow into something beautiful and genuine. This book shows us what it means to love and be loved, and the sacrifices one has to make to protect the person you love.
I could certainly imagine this book being turned into a movie, it’s really good. The book isn’t especially long, but Anna Carey did that on purpose. She never got lost in the detail and didn’t give us too much background information at once, the story developed naturally.
I recommend it to everybody who likes this genre, but also to those who need something fresh, something different.

Rating: ❤❤❤❤ – 4 hearts!
